One Piece TCG investing has become the highest-upside play in the trading card hobby — the Card Ladder index recorded +119% in six months in early 2026, the strongest of any established TCG. If you are buying in Australia, here is what actually moves.
Manga rares: the premium tier
Manga rare alternate arts dominate the top of the market — cards like Monkey D. Luffy OP13-118 reach $8,950 raw and Ace OP13-119 over $4,200. They gained 10.5% in early 2026 alone. These are the cards to buy graded, because the premium between a raw copy and a PSA 10 is enormous — and counterfeits are a real risk, so only buy slabbed manga rares from a graded card seller.
Sealed product: OP01 and early waves
OP01 booster boxes have surged roughly 299% from release to around $4,300+, while later sets like OP13 trade between $500–$580 during shortages. Early sealed waves are the closest thing One Piece has to a blue-chip hold.
What to buy first as an Australian collector
- Start with leader cards and meta staples — they hold value and are always liquid for players.
- Buy Romance Dawn (OP01) singles while the supply of raw copies is still healthy.
- Hold sealed OP01–OP03 if you can buy under market.
